Answer #1:
Marvel Mystery oil in the oil & gas maybe have the oil, trans & coolant flushed & run seafoam through it. Nice car, good luckAnswer #2:
unless you are willing to take it out and do complete re-do of everything just drive it and do reg maintenanceAnswer #3:
Sounds like it doesn't need anything other than some one to do a light tune-upAnswer #4:
Well, first place to start is to do a full compression and leakdown testing. Find out what the factory compression was, and if any of the cylinders are more than 10% lower than that, it's time for a rebuild. Second is leakdown testing. If you perform a leakdown test and lose more than 5% of the compression, you need the heads rebuilt. If both of those are OK, then it should be fairly simple. New belts, new hoses, new water pump and coolant, rebuild the carburetor if it sat with gas in it for those 3 years (it will be all gunked up), air filter, new distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires, and a new fuel filter. That's a fair bit of work, but that would get it to just about tip-top shape.Answer #5:
about three oil changes in a row spaced about 250 miles apart. So that you can run it and drain the sludge. radiator flush x2 one w/first oil change one w/last oil change, change plugs. change plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, fuel filter, oil filter w/oil changes, hmmmm... let's see... You have the 5.0 right? check the fan to make sure it's in running order, you may need to replace the fuel pump... well okay if you had fuel in it this whole time then you may want to just drop the tank drain it replace the pump and put it back up. check the carb and make sure it's good, check the throttle plate. you know the best way is to rebuild it. Or you can go buy a nice Pace 350 Crate engine with 290hp for about 3700 bucks and it's a lot prettier, lol.Answer #6:
Do NOT use additives like seafoam. They are a waste of money and will do more harm than good. Finish the tune-up by changing the plugs, wires, cap, rotor and such. Rack up about a thousand miles and then change the oil and filter again. If it has no "issues" by that point it should be fine. I would have recommended putting some penetrating oil in the cylinders before starting, but you are past that point.** Powered by Yahoo Answers
